Our Hero Project

PROGRAM STARTING SOON!

At Exhale Farms, we are dedicated to establishing a safe space for Law Enforcement, Firefighters, Military/Veterans, and Medical Personnel, where they can unwind, feel valued, and engage in educational and stress-relieving activities. Our Hero Project gives participants an opportunity to rebuild their ability to connect with themselves and others, learn self-acceptance and establish and/or regain a sense of self worth and purpose.

What is Equine Therapeutic Horsemanship?

A unique therapeutic approach using horses as catalysts for emotional growth and learning. Horses have been shown to be effective in treating those who suffer from PTSD, depression, anxiety, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, conduct disorders and other chronic mental illnesses.

What are the benefits of therapeutic horsemanship?

A somatic, tactile understanding that goes beyond intellectual awareness. Seize the chance to discern patterns and reconsider their relevance. Explore new behaviors in a non-threatening environment, where instant feedback becomes a valuable part of the learning process.

what can first responders / veterans expect to gain?

Forge bonds of camaraderie and fellowship among fellow First Responders and Veterans. During these sessions, participants have the opportunity to learn how to ride and care for horses, a vocational training program to further advance one’s self worth.

What additional activities
do you offer?

We offer additional activities focused on social connections and strengthening teamwork. Some of these experiences may involve barbecues, gardening, arts and crafts, and more, all aimed at creating a strong sense of camaraderie and appreciation.

“Through horse-human interaction, veterans can relearn how to recognize their feelings, regulate emotions, and better communicate, as well as build trust and come to trust themselves again—all valuable tools to help them succeed with family, work, and social relationships.”
